I'm currently reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini, and I came across a simple, yet interesting quote.
"Children aren't colouring books. You don't get to fill them in with your favourite colours." - Rahim Khan (character).
Any thoughts?
Hmmm...I think this quote means that everyone is born a certain way and we don't get to decide how and who we are. We have to learn to accept ourselves and others for who they are. :)
ReplyDeleteWay to participate Em!~
I agree with what she said.
ReplyDeleteI think that this quote means that, as much as you might want your children to grow up to be a certain way, you can't decide their life for them.
ReplyDeleteI find this an intriguing quote, I also agree on what it says. I'd give you what I think it means but it'd pretty much say the same thing as Linda.
ReplyDeletechildren are who they are and forcing them to be or do something they hate or are not inclined to do is a mistake.
ReplyDeleteVery good choice on book emily, I read it in grade 11 for a class novel.
ReplyDeleteThis quote actually has some of the most meaning in the book, but not exactly how you think. I don't want to ruin it for you, because it is one of the best parts of the book.(and really changes how you will think about Amir's dad in the end)
